Want to join our efforts but not sure where to start?

There are four ways in, and none of them require you to be an expert. Our organisation always appreciates the generosity and involvement of people like you — every contribution goes towards making Speechless an even better NGO than it already is.

Foster programme

Give a puppy a sofa for a few weeks

Fostering is the single most useful thing most people can do. A puppy recovering from tick fever, mange or surgery does far better in a home than in a shelter — and every foster placement frees up space for the next rescue off the street.

  • You provide the space, the routine and the affection
  • We cover medical costs and provide food and supplies
  • Placements usually run two to eight weeks
  • We handle the adoption — you get the updates

More than 150 people have already fostered with us. If your home has room for one small, temporary, extremely grateful houseguest, we'd love to hear from you.

Volunteer with us

Show up. That's most of it.

Our organisation always appreciates the generosity and involvement of people like you. Volunteering with Speechless doesn't need a special skill set — it needs someone willing to be there when an animal needs help.

Feeding rounds

Join a route in your area and help make sure the strays nearby eat every day.

Rescue & transport

Help us reach an injured animal and get it to a vet — often the most time-critical job we have.

Shelter support

Cleaning, feeding, socialising the puppies, and helping them get used to people.

Content & outreach

Photos, reels, adoption posts. Our Instagram is how most of our dogs find homes.

Things we always need

If you'd rather give supplies than money, this is what actually gets used. Message us on Instagram or email us and we'll share the delivery address.

Puppy food

Dry and wet food, milk replacer for the very young, and treats for training.

Water bowls

Sturdy, heavy bowls that survive a street — the backbone of our water programme.

Medical supplies

Deworming tablets, tick and flea treatment, antiseptic, bandages and syringes.

Bedding & crates

Old blankets, towels, carriers and crates for transport and recovery.

Virtual adoption

Can't take a dog home? Adopt one from where you are.

Not everyone can bring a puppy into their house — a landlord, a family member's allergy, a job that keeps you travelling. Virtual adoption lets you take responsibility for a specific rescue anyway.

You cover that dog's food and medical care while they're with us, and we keep you updated with photos and progress until they find their permanent family. It costs a fraction of what people expect, and it keeps a real animal alive.

Still deciding? Start with a bowl of water.

Put one outside your gate today. Then tell us about it — we'll help you take it further whenever you're ready.
